ABSTRACT

CFI is defining standardized interfaces to the common services of CAD Frameworks
in order to reduce the cost of integration of design tools.  As part of that
effort, CFI's Design Representation Technical Sub-committee (DR TSC) is defining
a programming interface (PI) to electronic design data.  The DR TSC has found
that information modeling is a necessary mechanism for finding agreement on the
types of data found in CAD systems.  That agreement is essential to providing
standardized access.
